• The update protection program provides our customers with immediate access at no additional cost to new minor and major versions of Abyss Web Server X2 as soon as they are released.
• When you purchase a license of Abyss Web Server X2, you receive with it a 1-year or 2-year update protection (depending on your choice when ordering).
• When your initial update protection period is about to expire, you can extend it by 1 or 2 more years to continue benefiting from our priority support and having access to new releases of Abyss Web Server X2 (both minor and major versions).
• Extending your update protection helps you remain up-to-date at a very reasonable cost.
• Update protection extensions are optional: If you decide to not extend yours, you can continue to use the latest version of Abyss Web Server X2 you have downloaded with no restrictions and no time limits.

1.  My update protection is going to expire soon. Why should I extend it?

First of all, there is no obligation to extend it. You can choose to not do it and continue to use the latest version you have downloaded.

But if you are serious about hosting your web sites with Abyss Web Server X2, we strongly recommend that you consider extending your update protection.

By extending it, you ensure that you will always have the most up-to-date version with the newest set of features and the latest enhancements. You will also continue to benefit from our free and unlimited priority technical support.

2.  How long does the update protection last?

When you purchase a license of our software, you receive a 1-year or 2-year update protection with it (depending on your choice when ordering).

You can later extend your update protection by ordering additional 1-year or 2-year extensions. There is no limit on the number of update protection extensions you can purchase in the future.

3.  When can I extend my update protection?

You can extend it at any time before its expiration. Note that we actually offer another 2 month delay after an update protection expires to order an extension. So if your update protection expires today, you still have 2 months to extend it.

3.  Is extending my update protection before it expires going to narrow my current update protection period?

No, there will be no loss: If you extend your update protection before it expires, our system will simply add the newly purchased extension period to your currently remaining update protection period.

Update Protection Expiration

1.  Is it mandatory to extend my update protection?

No, there is no obligation to extend it. If you decide to let your update protection expire without ordering an extension, you will be able to continue the software with no restrictions. See also the next question for more information.

2.  Can I continue to use the software after my update protection expires?

Yes, you can. If your update protection expires and if you decide to not extend it, you can still use the last version of the software you have obtained. There is no time limit and no restriction, you can continue to use this last version for the next 1000 years if you want.

3.  I want to have the latest version but my update protection expired. What can I do?

If your update protection expired less than 2 months ago, you can still extend it. So order now an extension and as soon as your order is processed, you will have access to the newest version.

If your update protection expired more than 2 months ago, there is no way to extend it. You will need to order a new license of the software to obtain the latest version.
