Currently using this format:

https://my.domain/my_folder?some-very-long-parameter

This work fine.

How to make it to become https://my.domain/my_folder/some-very-long-parameter

Currently my_folder just a folder under htdocs, not a virtual path. I can make it a virtual path if needed.
