I recently had a hard drive crash and had to reinstall abyss X2. As far as I can remember I set everything up the same way as before.

I cannot use http://128.0.0.1 by itself or with 80,8000,8080
I shut off Zone Alarm and have read thru most of the other forums regarding this problem to no avail.

I can not see any website (running 3 of them) either.

The portforward site has no information regarding the D-Link DIR-615 and ports for Abyss. It has info for apache but not Abyss.
Anyway I opened up port forwarding in my router with ports 80,8000,8080 to point to my server at 192.168.0.109. I am using ZoneEdit to forward to my ip 75.141.228.*** I have Godaddy as my registrar and have the nameservers setup correctly there pointing the the ones listed on ZoneEdit.

The console says everything is up and running. I do not have leeching enabled or ip address control running.

I cannot figure out for the life of me why it is not working.

It's 127.0.0.1 and it will only work if you have a default host and not named hosts. If you have named hosts, you'll have to follow the procedure in http://www.aprelium.com/abyssws/articles/access-test.html .

The brand of the server does not matter. Apache or Abyss Web Server are all using HTTP on port 80 and the instructions are the same regardless of the software brand or maker.

Sorry typo in the other email I did use 127.0.0.1 and have also modified the hosts file as directed. I did use the info on portforward and modified my router to match it.

Still cant see anything

Just saw something of interest on the page you suggested (and I am running Win XP Pro) there is no c:\winnt folder just the c:\windows folder. Anyway that file in that folder I did modify as directed.

Also proxify says connection refused

I have also made all of the exceptions in the windows firewall area.

cat3rn,

One of your sites http://www.preciseflow.com:8000 is responding fine (and we can see that Abyss is responding when we inspect the response headers).

So either your port 80 is blocked on your computer (firewall?) or your ISP is actually blocking on its side.

When I use proxify it gives me a 403 forbidden error on the pages preciseflow.com and on defendusa.org
but I get just a blank page on vanguardpc4less.com
This happens on ports 8000 and 8080
but on 80 it is connection refused
I have opened up all ports on the computer
I can understand why port 80 might be blocked by the ISP but the other ports just say 403 forbidden
Shouldn't I be able to just use the 8000 and 8080 ports to set up the website and not worry about 80?
How do I get the 403 forbidden error to go away and get the webpage to show?

403 Forbidden can show up if you have configured some IP Access rules or if your directory does not have an index page and directory listings are not allowed.
