Hi There,

I went through the tutorials on Abyssunderground (thanks - could have done this without this tutorial)... I now have a really big propblem though.

In the Joomla front end and when accessing the main URL (below) the site is so slow that I thought the server had crashed. When I logged into the server the total process usage is at 10-15 percent, so CPU speed does not appear to be the problem.

Another observation is that the graphics for Joomla do not show once logged into the admin section of the site or the homepage - http://www.harddiskrecovery.co.uk

At bottom left in statusbar - error on page shows
Line: 2
Char: 1
Error: Syntax Error
Code:0
URL <as above>

Any ideas anyone ?

Thank you,

Mike

OK..

I fixed the speed issue by changing to FastCGI. This brings the speed back to normal :)

Only problem now is the Joomla Admin graphics not showing (or home page graphics) anyone ?

if there are no graphics thats uasally means that you didnt fully upload it to your server. Or it was not installed correctly.

I think I can see what the problem is..

When clicking on a URL it gets appeneded to the current URL ..

If I go to the following URL then login
http://www.harddiskrecovery.co.uk/administrator

I then get this as the current URL

http://www.harddiskrecovery.co.uk/administrator/index.php/administrator/index.php

What have I done - Anyone ??

It looks like a URL building issue. This usually reflects that you have a wrong URL rewriting rule (if you're using them) or that there is a PHP PATH_INFO related issue (in that case, check http://www.aprelium.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=15323 for a similar problem).

Thank you!

The above link describes the exact problem I have.

Now, I have no URL Rewrites on this domain, (or the default domain). Any ideas on how to set this up ?

Thanks again,

Mike
