I got my domain at Yahoo! and I redirected it to http://m.y.i.p/
Now, when I type www.mydomain.com the address bar shows http://m.y.i.p/

So I went to my Yahoo! control panel and I chose "mask". Now, when I type www.mydomain.com it shows it correctly.

THE PROBLEM IS when I type ie www.mydomine.com/about_me.php the address bar shows www.mydomine.com/about_me.php but the page shows the content for the home page.

I could type www.mydomine.com/this_doent_exist.php and it'll show my home page.

I'd like it to be like a normal web page, when I type www.mydomain.com it shoud go to www.mydomine.com/index.php and if I'd click on my "Links" button it should show www.mydomain.com/links.php etc

Cause that is the other problem no matter what link you click the address bar will always show www.mydomain.com even if you are on the "about me" page.

Thanks,
Lucas.

Ok so i think i understand the problem

When you type http://www.mydomain.com it goes to the home page, but it doesnt show http://www.mydomain.com/index.php? Because the domain is masked it will not show. Iv never used yahoo as a doamin service so i cant really help. If you would like, i suggest you use http://www.zoneedit.com as a domain controller (i think thats what they call it) thats what i use anyway :P

Yep, that's what happens.
The problem is that if I don't mask it it'll show http://M.Y.I.P/index.php
I'll try zoneedit to see what happens.
Thanks for the help

Lucas.

You need to set up DNS A records or CNAMEs for this to work, not forwarding or masking.

This is the response from the Yahoo! team

"Hello Lucas,

Thank you for writing to Yahoo! Domains.

I welcome the opportunity to assist you with your
concerns.

I understand that you have following concerns for
your domain
"your_domain.com":

1. Masked forwarding for your domain is not
working.
2. You want to redirect your domain to
"http://your_IP/images" when you type

Your Concern 1: Masked forwarding:
==================================

Lucas, I visited your website at URL:

http://your_domain.com/

and I found that it was showing the address
"http://your_IP" on the status
bar, but the Address bar
was still showing "http://your_domain.com/". That
confirms that the masked
forwarding is working effectively.

Your Concern 2: SubDomain Forwarding:
=====================================

You want to redirect your domain to
"http://your_IP/images"
when you type "www.your_domain.com/images"

I am sorry, the feature you are mentioning is not
currently available
through Yahoo! Domains. We do not have an
estimated date as to when or
if it will be available. However, we'll pass your
comments on to our
Development team for further consideration.

We are always looking for ways to make Yahoo!
Domains more useful to our
users, and we will be sure to keep your question
in mind as we continue
to make improvements to our service.

I hope that my explanations are to your
satisfaction.

I value you as a customer and look forward to
serving you for years to
come.

Please do not hesitate to reply if you need
further assistance.

Have a great day!

Regards,

Natasha

Hello lucorium,

Does Yahoo Domains give you control over the DNS? You need to setup an A or CNAME record.

Example A record for GoDaddy.com

Host Name: @
Points to IP Address: Your Server's IP
TTL: 1 Hour

This will create: your-site.com and www.your-site.com (No Masking)

Note: A CNAME just uses the IP Address from a Hostname. It could be your website address or another server's Host address.

Example CNAME Record for GoDaddy.com

Enter an Alias Name: files
Points to Host Name: your-site.com
TTL: 1 hour

This will create: files.your-site.com

You DO NOT want Domain Forwarding enabled. That option is the worst way to host a website! Use the DNS settings if you have
a control panel for it. I can help you set it up if you want. My Windows/MSN Address is: msn@trustabyss.com

Kind regards, Josh
