Thanks to Abyss Webserver X1, I now can host my website for virtually nothing.
http://haidavision.no-ip.info/
The server is at 166Mhz Pentium Desktop, with Windows 98. It has about 4MB of harddrive space, 64MB memory, an Airlink Wireless router with Firewall, 10/100 mb ethernet card and software...
Abyss Web Server X1, WebLog Expert Lite, and No IP
ANd AVG anti-virus
Thanks again Aprelium --- You have a sponsored link on my site.

Thanks again guys, for checking out my site.
I checked the Church site out, works great.
Now I have to set up PHP, and some other scripts.
Any ideas which is good pHP4 or PHP5 for Win98 - 166mhz?

Hello Gannyaa,
Nice little site you have there! It loads real fast…good job!
I run my server on an older 500 Mhz with Windows 9x and I used the preconfigured php5 package available on www.abyssunderground.co.uk in the tutorials section. It has worked well and is preconfigured for MySql and actually does include MySql light. |

Amazing performance, especially on such an old computer.
You might want to add a listing at http://ramileus.com/oldestwebservers.html. Mine is listed on that page as 'Calvary Church'. |
lol kool I didn't know my webserver was listed on that website. _________________ http://www.dre361224.tk |

I checked out your site! Nite CNC project your working on.
I also looked at the Server page you have.
Good suggestions on what my Abyss can do with my 166mhz computer.
Will try setting them up too.

Great looking site, Ganyaa! Quite fast loading ... faster than my Pentium MMX 233! _________________ Red Lion

I've been looking into why I might have such a nice response from my server. And these are some of my findings:
The pages are written in very plain html - no cross browser compatibility written in them at all
- the pics are scaled to size - very small file sizes
- there are only 5 or 6 pages on the site.
Upload speed from my server to the net is 162 kbps
Download speed from net to server is 1.71 Mbps
- I downloaded an extension into Firefox to check these.
So another factor that may determine fast response is low traffic at the moment.
No streaming video. |

Hey Guys,
Sorry about the last post.
But Good News!
I have two websites now pointing to the same server!
http://haidavision.no-ip.info/
and
http://crescentbeachhouse.no-ip.info/
Both get their own websites with just Abyss Web Server X1
Can you guess how I did it?
Compatible with Netscape 4.6+, Mozilla FireFox 1.5+, and MS IE 6.0+ Browsers.

Maybe My Server is the oldest...
Sorry to get everyone worked up...
But I found the DirectX 8.51 or whatever Diagnostics tool and what I found was quite revealing... so I published a page.
http://haidavision.no-ip.info/gannyaa/server.htm
It has just about all the details of the server except the access.log of course!

It could be my computer, but when I click on your email link it takes a long time to load my MS-outlook. Then if I cancel the email from outlook, it won't & causes a blue screen then I have to reboot. Tried it 2x.

WHat I thought was a powerful javascript URL mailto:
This is so that everyone that uses the mail form doesn't have to submit their email address.
I sorta expect people with Monies and expensive computers to browser this site and make reservations....
