I am trying to run a flash website. The site opens fine in IE if i double click the index.html But, if i try to access it through abyss, www.example.com/flashsite, it will open and look good, but, when i scroll over the links, they don't act right and when i click on the links, it goes to an error page within the flash, saying this only _level0.content.alltextbox.instance147.pagecontent
At the same time, the green arow over abyss just keeps blinking, and continuesly adds hit's
Yes, i have made sure the swf file extension is enabled in mime types application/x-shockwave-flash --------swf
I hope this is a quick fix some one knows something about. Yes i have searched for answers, all day infact. I didn't really want to post anything, because i have been coming here for a week now, and i can see already how much of a headace this can all be with people asking Q's all the time, same ones, over and over. So, if this has been adressed somewhere, sorry, i just can't seem to find it.
Thanks |

I dont see how Abyss can affect the Flash file's links. Very strange. Did you try it in FireFox as well? _________________ Andy (AbyssUnderground) (previously The Inquisitor)

ChrisM2,
Abyss Web Server has no influence on your Flash files. A Flash file is transferred to the browser as any data file and it is processed on the browser side.
If the Flash reference other URLs on the server, it will make normal HTTP requests to it to get their content.
You Flash file could be referencing a local file (on your hard drive) which makes it not work when it is on a server (but will work fine when it is viewed from the hard disk directly).
Try to monitor your access.log file while browsing the Flash file and check the list of requested URLs to locate the ones which report error 404. _________________ Support Team

It is a verry small website, with few files, all of which are located in the same folder, and not pointing to anything outside except the net (links). I will try firefox when i get to work this morning. If you go to my work website at www.trcok.com, I will see it do the same thing with the arrow continuesly blinking untill you close your browser out of my site. It also has flash at the top. i have tried a non flash site on abyss, and i recieve no problems, and no green arrow flashing non-stop. I have yet to see it get to a error 404 page because it just stays withing the flash site it self. |

ok, i have the site up, and it is transfered to my server at work. Firefox is my new best friend. it works fast and perfect. IE is working with it, but, it is slow. and in both cases, no more blinking arrow over abyss icon except for the normal blinking it does when some one first logs onto the site.
The only thing left to test before i get all my hopes up, is the domain name redirect. it works ok with typeing the ip address in from another computer, but, typeing in a url might be a difrent story, we will see. |

ok, last post on this. The url works www.okieholic.com After reseting IE to all it's default settings, IE looks just as good as firefox, and is up to speed like it should be. And the continues blinking green arrow went away. try the link, and if it is acting funny in IE for you, then it could be just a ie setting.
Thanks again. |

mrhumid, that site has extremely simple instructions to add them to your site.
It says to unzip the game file and read the readme.txt file included with it.
Quote from the included readme.txt file... Quote: | HOW TO PUT THE GAMES ON YOUR SITE
Upload these files including all subdirectories to an appropriate place on
your web server. Examine the example html file to see the noted tags needed
to run the game. Place these tags in the appropriate html on your site. |
What is it that you can't understand?
BTW - You should have posted a new topic instead of adding to this thread. |
