IM looking for quick n dirty guides to PHP.
PLEASE!!! NO PHP.NET LINKS.
That is NOT what IM looking for as IM after real world working examples of code to help me build an interface to allow my partner to use the internet and update her web site herself instead of relying on me and my time to get the job done.
I calculated I spent best part of 90% of my time is spent on solving her website problems and I need to reverse that so I get time for me.
I have no access to internet at my home, all work is being done on my laptop but for deployment, the machine will have internet access.
I am looking for help with the following items...
1) mySQL access, a local database will be used, I will need to store information on all the changes made so that I can look at or undo any changes.
2) Remote server connection, PHP has the ability to connect to remote servers, so any sites with help on that will be of great help.
any eBooks? or Portable Document Files that anyone knows of for download, all items MUST be Free! _________________ 53 6D 61 72 74 41 73 73 |

All of that is available from php.net if you just look for the function you want. It gives working examples too.
If you REALLY dont want php.net then just search google for tutorials. There are thousands out there. _________________ Andy (AbyssUnderground) (previously The Inquisitor)

Thats just it, I dont know what functions to use as I have no knowledge of PHP and the format the PHP site offers up is confusing, full of stuff I dont understand but if it was offered in an easy on the brain and eyes format, I prolly would have no issues.
I did a search for help but all I get is bombarded with returns selling me stuff even though I stipulate FREE in the search criteria, IM presented with FREE samples and buy the book links, not what IM after.
The help I have been offered on other sites is unhelpful, despite the facts that I have given the reason for using PHP, IM offered solutions of... "Why not network the machines together" when in a previous thred the FACT was presented as being "The machines are in different DOMAINS" and that the other domain is the "ISP server", just for example. Not exactly helpful.
You wouldnt happen to know what the particular function set I require is? _________________ 53 6D 61 72 74 41 73 73 |
