Simple. I want to make it so people can choose from around 4 themes from any page on my website all the same as each other but using different colours. Is it possible? |

Make sure your design is pure CSS, and simply use a little server side code to change the style sheet around. _________________

Without being bothered to create exact code, you'd have to make a form to set a cookie with the style number. Then rotate style sheet depending on the value of the cookie. _________________

I wonder what would happen if you tried USING GOOGLE
Here's a clue. Search terms :
css website theme cookie
Try hitting "I'm Feeling Lucky" after entering them.
Congratulations on proving the statement in my signature. _________________

Then use it again, with the search terms I just gave you, which takes you to a site with exactly what you wanted. Maybe in future when you want to use Google you can get a grown up to help you with the spelling, or to pick out the key words for a query?
Also, a hint. Guess what this handy button does?

But you have done something wrong... All users are asked to edit their post instead of posting a new one if its straight after the last one. Also you should use your common sense when asking questions and searching google. _________________ Andy (AbyssUnderground) (previously The Inquisitor)

You've been making irritating multiple consecutive posts for as long as you've been posting here. If you are the future of Microsoft, I think it's time I started paying more attention to Linux... _________________

This thread has already been severely derailed, so I don't feel bad adding the following.

Internal Server Error
Powered by Abyss Web Server X2 | My server is set to only allow access from the local network, and return denials to Internet requests, but I don't know why that would be causing the machine looking at it to choke.
On a somewhat related note, I abandoned Windoze because it took a minimum 3 hours (on broadband) to reinstall and patch the OS enough to do web based banking. KNOPPIX would boot in under a minute, and I could do web banking instantly. That just naturally led into installing Linux. I haven't had any real reason to look back since. |

Chappy,
The link to alistapart.com is extremely useful. However, to have a good idea of how to code a "Style Switcher", you will need to be able to use XHTML, CSS, PHP, and perhaps Javascript.
Good Luck. |

Your website isn't listed, you can check any URL using the query. |

You should edit even if its a different post. Only make a new one if its hours/days/months later.
The whole point of it, if you actually read my sig, is to show you a simple echo command in php. _________________ Andy (AbyssUnderground) (previously The Inquisitor)
