i would love it if somone on here could help me find a ISP that is in the phily area (i say philly cuz i dont wanna reveal my location) or a really cheap or free webhost that uses ABYSS. my issue is with comcast and im paying so much for internet and its sooooo slow and their agreement is kinda intrusive on my web hosting. so if anyone has some service for me. that can host the type of content i have on my site. i would love you for it.

You could get most any DSL host, google adsl providers, or T1 lines, or whatever you're after. Try this to get you started.
There are a load of people that would help you host your site on here, too. I'd let you, but I use apache and would have to limit disk space. Alternativley, there are a lot of cheap webhosts, although I don't think you'll find a decent free one.

ok i like the idea of switching to DSL

i need a static ip one right?
also i want a price that competes with my comcast one
also i need proof that will convice my parents that this is a good route to go, not just for webhosting but for other things like speed and ping and other cool issues.

we dont have issues with spyware or security. i have many protection programs
and my mom is on a mac laptop. so thats ok. i would prefer that my isp does nothing of the sort of pretection.

Standard ADSL will probably be slower than standard cable, however ADSL2+ (Not sure of the US equivelant, or it could be the same.) outperforms most common cable connections.

And a static IP would help, but isn't a requirement.
