How do I get my actual IP address? I have a DNS set up and the Nameservers are correct, but I have not been able to set it up to the correct IP address.I can only bring up my web site through the loopback http://127.0.0.1/. In the TCP/IP Properties it tells me to contact my Network Administrator for an IP address, how do I do this?

On Windows 2000/NT, run the command line ipconfig. It will give you your IP address.

If you're using another version of Windows, try running winipcfg. _________________ Support Team

:? When I go to winipcfg the IP says 0.0.0.0

This is not a valid IP address.I am using Windows ME.

In the TCP/IP Properties can I specify an IP address (of my choosing) or Obtain an IP address automatically? I have tried specify an IP address

(of my choosing) Web Site Not Responding 502 Connection Failed

If I use Obtain an IP address automatically its allways changing.

Do I have to buy a IP address to use for my DNS know where to go.

I am not sure how to do this at this end. I have my site http://ytowndatabackup.com/ through ezyhoster and I am trying to set up this Web Site for a friend http://powerhouseeq.com/ If you can help me I would really appreciate it. If I can get http://powerhouseeq.com/ up and running I would like to change http://ytowndatabackup.com/ to my own server using Abyss Web Server for when I get my new server for Y-Town Data Backup set up.

Thanks again for your help. jph

We are sorry for not being able to give your a simple answer to your problem. Moreover, this issue is entirely related to your TCP/IP network and not to the webserver. _________________ Support Team

				Go to http://www.ip-address.com/

That will run a script which will get your actual ip. there are other sites with similar scripts, but this one is (as the name implies) specifically for the purpose you need.
