I got the server working perfect with php, mysql and everything, which totally rocks (thanks to everyone at aprelium!), and now I want to have my domain name point to my ip address, but like so many others, my isp blocks port 80. No-ip and TZO seem to be the only DDNS services that have a built in port 80 redirect so that poeple see domain.com instead of having to create a second host www2.domain.com and do url forwarding so people see www2.domain.com:8000. But I would prefer not to pay $25/year and to use one of the free services like sitelutions.com, so I was wondering
1) does anyone know of any free solutions to have my own domain name with DDNS service and port 80 redirecting so people will only see domain.com without port number (8000 or whatever).
or
2) rather than make a second host www2.domain.com, can you just do url forwarding to domain.com:8000 without first creating the 2nd host.
Thanks! |
