Well, i ever used Abyss 1 with PERL and php with no problems.
But after i moved to Abyss 2, php give me in the nerves. It doesn't work.
I followed all the tutorial about adding php suport, many times with no luck.
Whenever i try to open a php file (http://localhost/file.php) i get a blank page. Sometimes i get a 500 error, but i can't reproduce it.
Any other file type works fine, but php ones act like this.
So i uninstalled Abyss 2, deleted all the "C:\Program files\Abyss Web Server" folder and reinstalled Abyss 1 from a clean install. Re-added php with it, and now it works fine again.
The problem here is Abyss 2.
I run win2k in a admin account, php4.3.10. Mozilla Firefox. |

DCMad,
PHP works fine with version 2 (this site is on version 2.0 and this forum is a PHP script.)
Can you please send us your abyss.conf file so that we check your configuration and tell you how to fix it? _________________ Beta Testing Team

Sorry if my first post seems a bit hard. I ever used abyss cause it had been friendly for me.
But this is realy a weird thing.
I upgraded again from v1 to v2 and it used the same configs. But while v1 works fllawlessly, v2 still gives me a blank page whenever i try to open a php file.
I saved this copy of abyss.conf as txt and uploaded in my space, please give any hint.
Cheers.[/url] |

Your abyss.conf does not contain the information that we need in order to help
you , please upload the entire abyss.conf file so that we can see the CGI type
of settings that you put , if anything look at my PHP tutorials. LateR!

Note: I also spotted some weird stuff in your MIME Type settings , make sure
that your abyss.conf file isn't corrupted , hope this information helps. LateR! |

Well, that's all my abyss.conf file, i navigated to C:\Program files\Abyss Web Server" (i'm brazilian, the folder's actualy C:\Arquivos de programas\...), located abyss.conf and made a copy, renamed it to abyss.conf.txt and uploaded it.
Followed it already. Changed display_errors to off, register_globals to on and extension_dir to "./extensions".
Nothing changes.
Also where's suposed to be this "extensions" folder? In C:\PHP there's only \BACKUP, \sessiondata and \uploadtemp

The extensions folder ships with PHP v4 Zip Binary , My Tutorials have gone
through some change since v2 of Abyss Web Server is released , that way its
easier to install the PHP GD Extension when you need to install it.
Note: You can add me to your MSN Messenger and I will be more than happy
to diagnose the problem for you , your abyss.conf.txt does not carry all info.

I tried helping DCMad with his/her problem and the only thing that seemed to
have worked was ISAPI , he/she is running Windows 2000 , not only that but I
also installed Microsoft Data Access Components and still the CGI fails.
Does anyone know what maybe causing this , I checked the cgi.log and no
errors where being reported and so im fresh out of ideas. Have A Nice Day!
Sincerely , TRUSTpunk |
