|
|
A work mate said today there must be some way of accessing the consol from a remote computer and got me thinking. If this was possible then it would become really handy. If anyone knows any ways it is possible or things to try then please do tell me. _________________ M.Carpenter

Configure Abyss to allow access to the console from a remote IP.
Type http://yourserverip:9999 on the other PC.
Finito. |

By default, only computers on your LAN are allowed to access the console. To enable all the computer (whether local, on the LAN or from the internet) to browse the console, follow these instructions:
* Open the console
* Select "Console Configuration"
* Select "IP Address Control"
* In the "Allowed IP addresses", press "Add"
* Enter * and press "OK".
* Press "OK".
* is a joker which means "any IP address". From now on, any machine that can reach your computer can browse your console. If you are behind a router, you may need to configure the router to forward connections from the Internet on port 9999 to your computer on port 9999. |

If antihacking is enabled, it will also monitor the console and protect it from people trying to guess passwords or do brute force attacks (by launching a dictionnary based password cracking tool.) |

Thanks but wot happens if people just try to login on by guessing passwords bec my mate tried it for me, I put log attempt to 3 before locking out monitor over 600000 seconds and block for 99999999 seconds or something like that and he got an error page then refreshed and had another 2 attempts. _________________ M.Carpenter

max_carpenter,
This may be caused by the fact that antihacking is off or because your mate was using a computer which IP address is the in "Do not Monitor Requests from" table. |
