| What exactly do other use as a URL to connect to my server?? Is it just my IP?? Im sorry i have to ask such a silly question, but someone please help me understand this better, im just starting out.. |

Are you just starting out on the internet, as well???
You would probably get a quicker response if you had posted this in the right category.
This category is for posting tutorials. There's a reason why forums are divided into categories.
Categories give this forum some order. It's much easier for us to help people if we don't have
to search through the forum looking for rogue posts such as yours. In the time it took me to
type this, I could have told you the answer... if it had been in the correct category.

People have always posted in wrong forums since the beginning of time and always will, i don't see why you couldn't just post a simple answer instead of typing all that...
Yes, go to ipchicken.com and whatever your IP is there is how people will access your website. If you are behind a router, you will need to forward port 80(or whatever port you plan to use), read your router manual for this or visit their website as all routers are NOT the same... Search the forums for more details about adding a domain name to your IP...

Well that's a way to ensure you never get another helpful answer.
Everything you are trying to figure out could have been found from reading the forum, the manual and the FAQ on Aprelium.com - why should we waste our time spoonfeeding you what is already there for you to read?
If you want help, at least make the effort to read the topics of the forum and figure out what category to post in. If you can't be bothered to read the documentation of the webserver you'll be back to Geocities in no time. |
