I would just use phpBB if I were you, it's alot easier and geared more to the newbies...but of course with all the power and features that the more advanced users can take advantage of.
Something is telling me though that you don't even have php or mySQL even installed and configured on your server yet...so first things first ;) :) And don't forget to extract the files for whatever forum software you plan on using....that's another "hunch" I got from reading your responses...heh |

or maybe just read the documentation that comes with Invision....it would be alot easier than you asking us for help when you don't know what you need help with, not to sound harsh...but it would be easier for you to follow along, step by step, and you would get it done alot faster :) |

are you sure web development is something that you really are interested in and want to persue? this is as basic as it's gonna get, and you can't seem to understand it or figure anything out....start smaller by learning the basics first, there are a number of good eBooks available (for free) for download in various places about HTML and PHP and stuff like that...I would suggest something like that just to get you more familiar and aware of how and why things need to be done in certain ways, etc etc :) You could even buy a couple books, since reading paper is easier than reading a computer screen in most cases.
In any event, I still wish you luck :) |

Also, in response to GagnierA, maybe you should also get to grips with how an actual web server works.
I wish you luck! _________________ Please SEARCH the forums BEFORE asking questions! |
