|
|
Hi!
I am wondering how I can set up port forwarding on my modem/router.
I have a friend who told me that I need to set up port forwarding in order to get my website open to the public.
Anyone who can help me with this? I have a DSL-connection from Telenor Online, and my modem/router is a Thomsom (Alcatel) SpeedTouch 510i. If any more information is needed, please ask me. (I am quite new to webservers and websites, but know some about it, and want to learn more.

Thank you for all of your help so far, but I still can't get the server to function the way I want it to.
I can access the server locally on my computer by typing 127.0.0.1 or 10.0.0.1 in the web-browser, but I can't access it from other computers (from internet). I have set up port-forwarding like this:
Protocol: tcp
Inside IP: 127.0.0.1
Inside Port: 80
Outside IP: 0.0.0.0
Outside Port: 80
(I am using No-IP.)
At the same time I have something called "Default Server" in my router. Should I write something here or just leave it empty? |

that IP address will not work. as it is a loopback address that will connect to the computer it has been entered in, so basically what you have asked your router to do is connect to it's self, not the computer where Abyss is running.
To find you real IP address, open a Command Prompt. (ussally found in Accesserores). Type "ipconfig" (without the quotes). The line that starts with "IP Address" is your computer's network IP that needs entering in to your routers config.
screendump of "ipconfig": http://olly86.co.uk/images/abyss/network/dos.png _________________ Olly |

Ok... did that, and the IP-address was 10.0.0.1, but this is still not working. Any other suggestions? :) |

:)
I have just started to make the site, and it is all in Norwegian, so i doubt that you will understand that much, but sure. The address is
aodinsen.no-ip.com
Please keep in mind that I have just started making this site, and that I am an amateur. The site isn't near being finished, and the links does not work.
But hey, you're welcome. Maybe I can make an English version of the site when I'm done with the norwegian one.
Thanks again for your help! |
