Alright - I guess the title says it all.
I'm using the latest version of abyss and I'm using PHP 4.3.9.
FYI: PHP was stripped down (eg - removed extensions and docs I dont need - and yes - it works. I tested it with Apache and it worked so this cant be the problem.)

I removed the information that wont be needed for troubleshooting this problem.
Yes - I am aware that I am using relative paths instead of absolute paths. And let me tell you what - apart from one other PWS, Abyss seems to be the only one I found that supports that kind of usage. I am trying to install Abyss on a portable storage solution (like USB Keys or mobile HDDs) and have a Gallery System (gallery.menalto.com) running on it. This would be no problem if I could get PHP running.
And before anyone says "use absolute paths for php" - sorry, tried but didnt work out. Apart from that I wasnt able to get Abyss running with PHP even when using absolut Paths for ALL paths (webroot, serveroot).
I'd be happy if someone could help me with that. What I wouldnt like is someone coming and saying "sorry - doesnt work". Because Abyss frankly doesnt care about Paths as long as the file is where it should be and the Path is poiting to it.
P.S.: I looked thru this forum on a number of occassions and tried all the tweaks (cgi.force_redirect = 1 and ;cgi.fix_pathinfo=1 in php.ini) but somehow was unable to get PHP working. |

Use php-cgi.exe if there is such a file instead of php.exe . If the problem persists, please contact support@aprelium.com . |

I only have php.exe - php-cgi.exe is (if I'm not mistaken) related to PHP5. However I am using 4.3.9 as noted before. |

So the problem is probably related to a missing DLL (or a DLL location problem.) Please contact our technical support for more help. |

Hmm. I wonder what kind of dll abyss is missing - considering that the same stripped down version does work flawlessly with 2 other servers.
besides, already wrote the support - waiting for an answer now. |

I had a problem similar to this open your php.ini file and edit the line "doc_root". Either remove the dir path specified in the doc_root or change it to your Abyss' htdocs location.
php.ini usually resides in your windows dir (eg: C:\Windows) _________________ Olly |

Olly, thanks for your attempt to help - however, as described above - I am not using ABSOLUTE but RELATIVE paths. My php.ini is currently located in the php folder (where I have all my php.ini's - no matter which http server I use) and it works.
That said, doc_root I assume will need an ABSOLUTE path rather than a RELATIVE one. |

It is PHP which is missing some DLLs not Abyss. Why not contacting us by email (support@aprelium.com) for a faster exchange of emails and a quicker solution to solve this problem? (you know, our support is free :-) ...) |
