Hey guys,
First off I must say: Great product! But I have a problem, I've set the root and the documents to C:\ (I need to access my HDD remotely). I can access the \ of the server and it shows the directory listing. But then I can't access *any* files on that listing (Gives 404 not found) and clicking on any folders on that listing has the same effect. I never want an index.html type page to be displayed (Only folder listings) so I removed "Index.html" and "index.htm" from the index page list thingy :). What have I done wrong? Here's my config file (MIME types and passwords removed):
ServerRoot C:\
Port 80
Path \
KeepAlive 10
TimeOut 10
MaxConnections 20
ConsolePort 9999
CGIEnabled Yes
CGITimeOut 30
CGIUseRegistry No
CGIUseScript No
ExtendedLog No
AutoIndex Yes
SSIEnabled Yes
SSICmdEnabled No
SSIExtension shtml shtm stm
SSIErrorMsg
SSITimeFmt
SSISizeAbbrev No
CustomErrorDefault
MIMEFile
LogFile log/access.log
CGIErrorFile /program files/abyss web server/log/cgi.log
CGIPath /cgi-bin
alias "/cgi-bin" "c:\cgi-bin"
Version 1.1.2

Do not use such a setting. Instead, let ServerRoot point to its default value (that's better) and set Documents Path to c:\ . That's it. _________________ Support Team

Still a complete no-go, I'm afraid. I changed the serverroot to c:\program files\abyss web server and the documents to c:\ and attempting to access anything but \ on the server (Which gives the folder listing, as expected) just gives an internet explorer "The page cannot be found" message. |

Strange. We reproduced the same configuration as your and it works as expected. We can browse the entire disk without any problem.
Please repost your new abyss.conf so that we can check it again. _________________ Support Team
