alright so I installed mysql on abyss web server/database/mysql and from there, I haven't the slightest idea waht to do...so what do I do? |

Why did you install MySQL? If you had no reason to, then just let it be until you find a product you want that requires MySQL. _________________ Bienvenidos! |

I know how to install it, I've done it many times, I just need to know how to set up databases names and stuff |

heres a good tutorial. http://os17fan.cjb.net/
phpmyadmin controls the MySql graphically, so follow this tutorial, and make a new database for your forum, install the forum with the info much like phpbb, and voila _________________

ok, well I did something wrong I think, I installed mysql, and wehn I click start this service on the thing down in the corner, and the light doesn't turn green!!!this didn't work, therefore I couldn't install phpMyadmin |

Tweak, if it doesn't turn green , you could be using a Windows that doesn't
support running as a service thats why it doesn't work, what OS are you on ? |

Don't put nothing in the my.ini , just read my tutorial on MySQL , its
very easy and I don't know why most people are having problems still.

try the littilist install for mysql, I think its just required files, and not the recommended or fuill installs, the one with just core, it worked for me _________________
