The dragging menu thing is nice, however that one sitting in the middle is sort of annoying. I guess I can't comment on much considering there isn't much to comment on; besides the fact that you need to size down that 603KB image (as nquin321 said).
Might I add, Gentoo is a bitch to install... Yours looks like a Mac... hehe. _________________ Bienvenidos! |

I'm still working out the fine details of controlling the windows and stuff, once I do I'm sure I'll be able to hide the center window.. I also resized the screenshot to about half the kb as before...
I really like the concept of a GUI type interface for a website, makes things interesting... Any ideas as to what I can improve upon or add to the site?

Well right now, there is no way to close the windows, so maybe you can add that. You could put some more eye candy on the toolbars, and maybe something like a startbar at the bottom. Make it very user-customizable. _________________ Bienvenidos! |

you really need to get a domain name. people can hack if they see the IP adderss. (spell check?)
go to www.uni.cc to get a free one... yoursite.uni.cc.
not to shabby. your site just takes so long to load. _________________ Languages mastered:

I like your drag box But...
1. When You hold it and shake it, the text and image shakes within the 'window'
Heres My take on the drag and drop, windows emulation bla bla
http://foxy.advantagehost.co.uk/windows.html
O.o;!.
fyi. My Buttons arent the prettiest. But everything works, resizing etc.
Anyways Nice site _________________

00squeaky: Try pinging a URL and see what you get. People can hack an IP or a domain; it doesn't matter, as they do the same thing. It matters on your security.
Foxified: Your windows are very nice. Only problem is, that is some big-ass bulky code. It could definitely use some optimizing. _________________ Bienvenidos! |

How do you prevent pinging ?
packets from being sent to users
Example is this , they can see site
but they cannot ping the domain. |

everything has a purpose, its all layed out perfectly "ORGANIZED" all placed in specific categories, labeled properly to see what to change and go to and see what each purpose is for for future reference.. also if you didnt notice the Numerous options of the windows that they do have requrie a bit more then his.
, and whats wrong with Big code 8) makes it feel nice and over complicated. O.o;! _________________

TRUSTpunk: You use Norton Internet Security, don't you? To block ICMP Ping packets, set an access rule (if there already isn't one) to block ICMP Ping (port 7) traffic. Then, go into your router and forward port 7 to the computer with NIS on it. You must forward it, because if the Ping request stays at the router, it won't normally block it.
Foxified: Yes, comments are good. It seems organized, but there is still a lot of code none the less. I'm sure you didn't write all that though, did you?
Techno_Mage: The windows look a lot nicer and more "GUI-like." I wasn't able to close any of them, but oh well. Maybe you can stick a bar up at the top that has commands to open each individual window. The loading time was also fixed greatly; good job. _________________ Bienvenidos! |

Thanks for the feedback... some of those windows should be closable, just look for the little square in the right hand corner.. did the shade button work for you?

I don't see any "close" buttons, and I don't see a way to change the colors. All i see is the refresh and the fullsize.
TRUSTpunk: Under "Personal Firewall," hit "Configure." Go to "Advanced," and then "General Rules." Click on "Default Inbound ICMP," and change it to "block." Then forward Port 7 (Echo) to the computer with NIS. If you did not forward Echo, then the router would be the one handling the request; and it would not normally block it. When you send the request to the computer with NIS, NIS will be set to block it. Lack of Echo will also block most modern Port Scans. _________________ Bienvenidos! |

.... Aaaaaand back to reality. Firstly, that's a free subdomain that you are given, not a domain name. The only free TLD I know of is .tk. Secondly, all domain names/subdomains resolve to IP addresses - the idea of the domain name is something more memorable for humans rather than a series of numbers. Domain names *can* provide some additional security, but not in the way you meant... I notice you've made your site 100% secure by giving out your LAN IP instead of a public one :D :D :D |

Also request timed out. You're wrong about blocking it only blocking for that PC though - if you forward all ping requests to that PC, and that PC drops them, your router will effectively appear to not respond to ping requests from the internet. Your other PCs will never see a ping request from the internet since it's all forwarded to the other machine. You must have set something up wrong somewhere if it wasn't working... |

TRUSTpunk, glad it works. At least it shows that it is possible. Maybe I can make a tutorial out of it... or whatnot. I can't see myself, because I am on the same network... _________________ Bienvenidos! |

Try opening up the news or the links window and you should be able to close them with the little square in the upper right corner... some windows I dont have the close button activated... just the shade button _________________ Regards,

The shade button is in the upper right corner of every window, two overlapping little square thingy... and the little figure 8 in the upper left corner refreshes that window... _________________ Regards,

Oh... Is that what "shade" means? It keeps the toolbar, but removes the window? I thought shade intended to change the color of the window. _________________ Bienvenidos! |
