|
|
CNET Download.com editors have selected Abyss Web Server as one of their picks this week: http://download.com.com/1200-2645-5118039.html .
But all the 912 user reviews on Abyss Web Server were lost since Download.com has reset them after updating their listing. So if you like Abyss and want it to be widely known, please rate it and write a sentence or two about it in http://download.com.com/3000-2165-10079200.html . _________________ Support Team

Actually, Apache isn't even featured on Download.com. Search for it; you won't find it. _________________ Bienvenidos! |

Since when did "spammy" become an adjective?
Oh, and if you think I "spam" this board, then I invite you to have a look around. (I am proud to say that I have never made a post consisting of only emoticons, or a single acronym). _________________ Bienvenidos! |

No, no, no iNaNimAtE.
I never said you were spammy, i said downloads.com was. See how i used "they're", meaning "they are"?
You aren't a "they are", don't flare up at me please. _________________ Thank you all. Aprelium most importantly.

Very sorry. My mistake.
(Actually, when skillfully using the right context, "they're" can be referring to one person; but I won't get in to linguistics right now)... _________________ Bienvenidos! |

How can a shortening of "they are" refer to one person? _________________ "Technological progress is like an axe in the hands of a pathological criminal."

No, I was referring to they're; the contraction of they are. It would be sort of hard for me to explain in text, as oppose to in person or over a telephone. And also, the Aprelium forums aren't a good place to do it anyway.
I can do my best to explain it now, but I don't want to continue this any further here; as Aprelium is trying to conserve bandwidth:
The use of "they are" in referring to a single person is actually an unconciously popular concept. Of course, speaking in general is an unconciously popular concept; but let's not go in to that. People can use "they're" as a joke, or a sarcastic remark to intend it to one person. This is going to be hard to portray, but if you [plural] know what a stage whisper is, it will help you.
Example dialogue, 3 people:
"John: Wow! I found out this really cool thing!"
"[Jake talking to Jim, but intending for John to hear; a stage whisper] Well someone thinks that they're just great; don't they? [Referring to John's comment; a sarcastic remark]"
In Karasu's sense (why I thought I was 'spammy'):
After I notice something, Karasu responds with:
"Well, atleast someone isn't completely blind; Even though they're spammy. [I thought he was referring to me as 'not being blind, although spammy']" - I was thinking Karasu was talking to the other members, in declaring "At least someone [me] isn't blind, although they're [me] spammy." Turned out he was referring to Download.com.
You see now how it can be used to refer to one person? And if you don't, well I'm not going to try to explain it any more. _________________ Bienvenidos! |

If you're referring to PAH, then it's up for me.
And would you mind sizing down your signature? It happens to be large and distracting. _________________ Bienvenidos! |

I'm so sorry.
Anyway, you aren't just resizing it for "us people", its common knowledge in the sig business to have SMALL sigs, not large ones, like some think. |
I pressed "ad 486x 100" default... :|
Ill probably reduce the height by till it hits his crown, and move down the little speach bubble, is that enuff you think? _________________

I would normally say don't make it any bigger than 468x60 (the set size for a banner ad), but I think Karasu's is the limit; 500x100.
And I thought mine was big... _________________ Bienvenidos! |
