I have tried changing the consol and server port numbers and still get "listening error, port being used by another application". But I have no other apps running. Please help...machine has windows ME and uses IE 6.0 as browser.

What are the values you tried ? Try using numbers starting from 8000 for the web port for example.
If the problem persists, that can mean that you don't have TCP/IP drivers correctly installed in your Windows system (see the Network section in the Control Panel.)
