How many hits could a 512k connection cope with before raising massively high pings in games and such. |

It depends on the type of hits. 100 people viewing one page on your website could be the same as 5 people downloading big files. If each person on average transferred 5KB of data over your website, then it would take about 100 people to max out your bandwidth. I think around 50 people, you may start to notice a difference. _________________ Bienvenidos! |

So it should be fine then. :D So your saying it could cope with 50 people on the same website at the same time before i notice any difference? if so then nice :D |

That's assuming that those 50 people are clicking on to your site at exactly the same time.
The odds of that happening depend on the popularity of your site. You would have to have
hundreds of visitors for that to happen. |

Well yes, I'm just going for the whole theory of how much load the server could take. Chances are, it will not grow that popular that fast, so you'll probably be fine. _________________ Bienvenidos! |

mySQL doesn't usually use a lot of bandwidth. It is the scripts that utilize mySQL that can sometimes run slow.
For example: phpBB, a popular forum, utilizes mySQL for its database. I use it, while not having very "abundent" upload speeds, and the scripts execute rather fast. _________________ Bienvenidos! |

Infernus,
MySQL won't use your bandwidth since it is usually installed on the same computer where Abyss and the scripts run. So the script-MySQL connections are only done locally. _________________ Support Team
