If you want to restrict access to the phpMyAdmin directory, you can just do it using access control in Abyss. Console>Server Configuration>Advanced>Users and Groups. Make a new user for yourslef. Once done, go into "Access Control" and set the phpMyAdmin directory to be password protected. That should do it.
