Hi guys,
I just would like to start off how I really like Abyss, wonderful server with lots of features and versatility.
For some odd reason today my webserver says [Halted] in titlebar and will not let me start it back up. It was working flawlessly since I installed the v1.2 on Dec. 3rd of 2003. I tried re-installing, new conf file, it does not give me no error message, just starts up and automatically puts state to [Halted]. Under the server menu, Run and Stop are grayed out, same as Show under Console. At first I thought it may be a problem with port, tried changing port in conf file with no luck, tried to use any other port directly through Abyss window and always tells me the port is in use no matter which one I choose. Im not sure what is going on or why it is doing that.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks |

R u running a mail server ? Argosoft uses the same
web port as Abyss does and so you need to disable
it if its causing this and change the port later! |

I had this problem yesterday - couldn't figure it out at all! Definitely nothing else running on the port as I use a random high number port for the webserver. Double checked with FPort and ActivePorts... I ended up deleting everything except my htdocs folder and reinstalling from scratch, a pain, but it worked. Deleting the conf file on it's own didn't help, so I guess something got majorly broke somewhere :? |

yes I am running an exchange server on the box as well but the exchange server has been residing on the box well before the install of Abyss on Dec. 3rd last year, and from Dec. 3rd up until yesterday Abyss was working fine.
I did try to remove and re-install with no luck either, I will try again tonight to remove/re-install once again and remove any traces from system.
Will post update later tonight after trying a few more things.
Thanks for the help up to now guys, appreciate it :) |
