Sorry if this is a basic question and I am just missing something, but how would I make sure the Read and Scripts permissions are enabled for a newly created root folder? Just download this software today, so very wet behind the ears on this one (little experiance with PWS)

If you are using Windows, you should ignore all the permissions settings that you are instructed to do. Scripts run according the CGI Parameters settings (mainly according to their extensions, and to the CGI Paths).
On other systems, you should use the command chmod . Search for "chmod" on the forum for more information.
