I would like to know if its possible to log certain download links on a web site using a PHP , CGI , PERL script that way I can log a file such as

http://www.your-site.com/karasu_kami.exe

and this file goes straight into a log file instead of the original one that abyss uses , this will be so I can keep track of downloads and if people are linking to my downloads, Is it possible ?

Notice what file name I used lol :D

Not quite what you want but it would be easy enough to grab whatever links you want from the access logs after they're created. Have a look at the example I wrote for the access log trash topic but apply them to whatever filenames / types you want :)

Hmm, i was meaning it in reverse though - use it to filter out everything except the downloads you want to track... I'll have a look around though.

There is a perl script that you can use to do exactly what you want to, I believe.
Fluid Dynamics Software
AXS Tracking System

I am a big fan of this guy's perl scripts. The AXS is free. If you have ftp there is even a automatic installer.
