e.g.
What is a server?
What is a website?
What is Abyss?
What is HTML?
What is an IP (Internet Protocol)?
What is it that makes the sky blue? |

Since you are a newbie, read the guide that comes with abyss. Also if you still don't get it, than get free hosting, like http://www.lycos.co.uk
(Which in my opinion sucks) or CoolFreePages. I really doubt any one has the patience or time to write a guide that teaches you how to use Abyss. Besides Abyss made a guide, read it, it has valuable information. |

You've asked a very valid question. It is also good to learn so good luck.
1. If you want to learn Abyss just run through the manual like a comic book.
2. Run through these forums because chances are the problem you didn't run into yet has already been answered to the guy who ran into the problem yesterday...
3. This is very powerful the secret I am about to share with everyone. It is said Google at http://www.google.com has the answer to everything... Not sure but I've learned a lot about serving doing searches at Google... Good luck :)
Your question about changing your IP to a name is valid. Not everyone knows its not possible. The answer to your question is: It is not possible on your end but if you own a domain look to your provider of the domain for answers, it can be done with their help...
Heres a few things which will help you learn and get up to speed...
1. Know the difference between a network (LAN) and global (WAN) address. Don't ask questions, use Google... You have all the keywords at copy and paste if necessary...
2. Use your manuals for everything (Abyss, Windows, Router, Hardware, etc)...
3. Search everything...
4. Search it again...
5. If you get stuck, experiment...
6. Once you tried and tried ask your question BUT let us know you tried...
Asking is like begging if its your first choice. Show us you put a little work into trying to solve your problem and I am sure some of us will be a bit happier to help.
We want you to be a positive member and a powerful server administrator but its no job for the kids mindset... I know you'll learn and shock the pants off your goldfish so in the mean time take patience with you and be humble.
Don't really know about we but I am happy you asked... Otherwise how else will you learn without positive feedback?

Changing a ip to a domain name , go to http://no-ip.com and your web site has to be on port 80 to use this service , good luck !
