Hello All. I am trying to install phpMyAdmin and it is saying that i need to set appropriate folder permissions to write files. I had the same problem before after installing phpbb2 - users can't upload avatars because of the same problem. How would i set the appropriate folder permissions. Please help.

thanx in advance

Which OS are you using? If its windows then you do not need to change anything and another problem is causing the issues.

sounds like linux, make sure you change all the permissions to 777 in the upload folders fo phpBB (also turn on link off site so you dont have to worry about permissions) as for the phpMyAdmin are you change it to 777 that way you can use it :D

(If you are running windows there are no permissions like abyssunderground said something else is cousing the problem)

orudie is using Windows.
Right-click the folder in question and select Properties.
In Attributes, make sure Read-only is not selected.
