I might be buying a dedicated server soon and I was wondering if anyone wanted hosting on it. The prices are on http://www.abyssunderground.co.uk/hosting2.php if you are interested. Let me know so I have an idea of how many people would like the service.
AMD 64 3000+
1GB RAM
2x 80GB HD's
10Mbps uplink.
Redundant power
Redundant internet connection
99% uptime
I have decided to do this to help people who cant use abyss at home. It is also so I can provide relativly cheap hosting for people.
Bear in mind that the more people that want the hosting, the cheaper it will get over time. As its expensive to start off with I need as many people as possible to want the service before I can start it.
If anyone is interested please let me know. Also, please comment about the price, services etc. I welcome your feedback to I can make the service more suited to customers.

| I think it is a great idea. I am using ur free hosting at the moment will this effect me as there are changes to the free hosting? |

Current free hosts no. Not until the dedicated server, when/if I get it is up and running.
Thing is Ive had 1 person so far saying they would definately pay for one of the services, the lowest one infact. So that leaves me with £55 out of £56 to pay per month.
I am offering a VDS to people too but the server will only realisticly handle 1, so thats all Im offering. It will be £25 a month for that. If anyone is interested let me know. Just that one may persudade me to buy the server and go from there.
Note, when you sign up I need the money 1 month in advance. This is so people cant just suddenly say they are not paying at the end of the month.

Ive decided that I will also host game servers for a charge of £20/month. Not sure what games you will be able to put on it yet because it would have to be uploaded.
Any Steam games etc will be fine and these seem to be the most popular anyway.
Any takers?

If you mean client upload, then why not just get the server to download?

Well if its a game that installs from a CD-ROM such as Battlefield 1942 or Call Of Duty etc, then it might not be possible to host a dedicated for that game. Steam for example can be downloaded from their servers.

I payed for the server last night. Its currently being built and deployed. The price has gone up a little to £60 a month because the £56 was a christmas deal.
Ive also built the website www.awshost.co.uk for the hosting website. Im not currently accepting applications so anyone who signs up wont be replied to until the server is deployed and fully operational.
If anyone requires paid hosting then please feel free to sign up when the server is operational. I will need a lot of people to help pay for the cost of the server. I can only just manage £60 a month if I save all the money I get.

the website looks great.. very attractive if someone wants hosting.
i gather alot of people will start of with the free package at first so it would be a good idea to get a forum community up and running so they can get help from either you and any other staff members you may have and also from other customers.. if they get help and like the service they may upgrade to another package.. anyway good luck with it.. i will slap your link on my site unless you have a banner i can have instead :)

AbyssUnderground is now on the dedicated server. Its now super fast :-)
All hosting accounts are being transferred, some faster than others due to their size.

The server has only been set up for hosting for about 10 minutes and I got my first customer :-)
They paid straight away with PayPal and their account is now activated and working. It just goes to show how eagar people are sometimes :-)

I would prefer it if you resubmitted the form because that way Im not likely to lose it again. The way the form is set up means it goes to a different place to other emails.
