Hello,
I was thinking of launching a low cost paid service on my website for template designs and logo designs etc. Do you think it would be a good idea? I need to make a bit of money seeing how I am in full time college and cant get a proper job yet.
When I say low cost I mean just a few £, not 10's and 100's of £'s.

A few people have offered me money to create sites for them, just hang around in the right places and you'll get plenty of opertunitys.

Tried that, google got cranky and deleted my account so I lost out on $50 worth of cash I had accumulated. I gave up in the end as no other ad company would accept me.

Im trying to keep visitors as well, I hate ads in general thats why I tried to get the google ones only and Im going to add paid services. I hate pop-ups and pop-unders myself so why should anyone else suffer?

I already said I dont want ads so that option is out of the window.
It would be easier just to do the paid services on the website, at least that way I know Ill get my money, unlike these ad groups like google that decide not to give you it because you actually earned some.

Thanks for that. So far 4 people have voted yes and 0 people voted no so I think this would be an idea that would take off :-)
I still need to know what other members think though. Ill give it a few days before I think more about starting it...

How about working a Saturday job?
I'm now struggling through uni, relying on income from a sat job. As well as working whenever I get a holiday, this year at xmass I don't get a day off, that's how much I need the cash...
But offering creating jobs on your site, might bring in some money, but I doubt it'd be enough...

With all the coursework I get I dont have time for a Saturday job, plus, weekends are my time and the only time I have free. I need some time to myself you know...

that's why i only suggested working on Sat, so then you get sun to yourself. and you can do your coursework in the evenings.

I say go for it.. if you would only charge a few quid or more i'd be interested since i'm useless at creating anything, my site template was downloaded so i would like my own designed website at some point... maybe after new year

See? There's your first first customer. They always say when starting a business hit up your friends and family first. If you can keep them around 7 Pounds, I'll buy them from you with the understanding that we may change them to suit a particular customer, and, I willl sell them on my site.

That's a boy. Get into it. And make sure you tell somone about it. Like I said in the IM, if you spend some money on paper and ink, and post to the Bulletin Boards around the campus, or if you have a place there where you can put flyers like that, you will turn a profit in no time!
