I saw this on the PHPBB forum a little while ago, and thought you guys might be interested.
Opera is now free. They're removed the ads, and you can get it COMPLETLY free now. No ads or anything. |

Nope, Opera announced today that the Desktop version of their browser will be free, and without the ad banner forever, you are just required to pay for priority support.
They are still charging for their mobile browsers. This move will really put FireFox to the test, it's just cumbersome rubbish (FireFox that is :D). _________________ Olly |

Aaah, nice but I didn't really mind the banners, some were pretty useful (U know the ones like: Get a date, and that kinda stuff :P). But better no ads for free than paid... |

Why didn't they just make it free when they celebrated their Anniversary ? This
all seems a bit weird to me. I think Opera is after Firefox and IE browsers lol... |

They gave away keys to unlock Opera, that was all, why they didn't made it free then is a mystery for me too...
But keys were almost enough to show people that Opera is free.. |

It also allowed Opera to get into the headlines of computer news sites twice, therefore increasing the programs exposure, to being free. Crafty or what? _________________ Olly |

You know that Firefox is based of Netscape, right? |

It's actually based off Mozilla, which was a considerable improvement over the original Netscape version released as open source. _________________

How can you say this while these two browsers are the quickest around... |

I think he means the slowest starting up. If he does, then I certainly agree... if now, well... |
