Ever wondered how much it actually costs to run that noisy metal box in the corner of the room? I did so I made this small script to work it out for you.
It doesnt just work for servers though, you can use it for anything.

Yeh, thats the reason I made it ;-)
It was the same for me, now my dad says you can have it on 24/7 providing you stop sitting on your arse all the time not doing anything around the house!

To be honest it costs less to have a shell for me. Or as the case may be, allmost the same, but only cause I want some extra hard drive. _________________

Well my results are this:
180w at 7.48p per/kWh
£0.32 per 24 hours
£2.26 per week for 24 hours a day
£9.05 per month (28 days) for 24 hours a day
£27.14 per quarter (3 months) for 24 hours a day
