Longhorn alpha cant be downloaded, my copy is illegal (Was sarcasm.) obviously =/
It isnt very stable (The one I have and is no good whatsoever as an OS in alpha, but does sport some cool features. _________________

To elaborate...
Quote: | Indigo and Avalon are the codenames for two strategic developer technologies that Microsoft plans to ship in 2006 as part of the Windows "Longhorn" operating system |
I guess you never did get that clue I suggested you needed. |

I said that they are "pillars" for the operating system, which, if you read Microsofts website, you'll find out is true.
They can be called Longhorn Alpha, Aplha, Longhorn Indigo, or Indigo... |

Avalon:
is a new 3d interface that is available all the time. this means that all applications will have access to 3d effects.
Indigo:

When I say longhorn, I mean Microsoft Windows Longhorn Alpha, not any of its technologies which have been released for beta testing so applications will allready exist for it on its launch date.
EDIT: Actually, not sure if longhorn is under the windows tree anymore, but something along those lines. _________________

What kind of error? Don't you know how to burn a .ISO?
Why don't you use your 1337 skillz and download K3B?
Oh, right I forgot you're on Windows like all losers. |

I resent that, I use Windows for gaming and (soon) Linux for server hosting. :\. _________________

As do I... I'm also considering Linux for a server.
Anyways, I get a "Windows Avalon and Indigo RC1 Beta has encountered a problem and needs to close. We apologize for any inconvenience" error. |

I'm using XP Home SP2, which is fully compatible. It is also compatible with Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition.
Also, I'll look into it |

This thread has been inactive for awhile, but I felt no need to create a new one, seeing as this is about the same topic. This is just if anyone is curious. If you don't care, no need to tell me.
Soem of you probably know this, but Windows Longhorn has been official named today. Its name is Windows Vista. Beta1 will be released by August 3, 2005.

Nah, not necessary...
a) I know how to install Linux
b) I'm a Windows User
EDIT: Anonymoose, I fixed the typo
