NetCraft.com: "The server hosting the main site for the phpBB bulletin board has been cracked, leaving the development team locked out of its primary server. The open source project's web site was compromised using a vulnerability in a separate program, AWStats, which was announced Jan. 17 and has also been used to hack several popular weblogs in recent days...."

So, to all using AWSTATS:
"If you use AWStats with another version (other than 5.0 to 6.2 <--are vulnerable) or with option AllowToUpdateStatsFromBrowser to 0, you are safe. If not, it is highly recommanded to update to 6.3 version that fix this security hole."
Might be a good idea for all using AWSTATS to immediately disallow update from browser. And/or upgrade to 6.3.

Wow...amazing. Im speechless. All i know is that if someone hacked my server I wouldnt be mad. In fact I would shake their hands and asked them how they did it o_o.

Remember to back-up forums and other things once a month, or once every half a year, depending on how much you update your site. |

but thats life i guess...
