I work at a small ISP and currently the web server we use does not allow for any type of cgi, php scripting. It hosts basic html pages; CSS is no problem.

What I would like to know is if Abyss would be up to the task of running a small ISP server. As I am aware that there will be a "Pro" version coming out. I have looked into a few other options, but I like using Abyss. I use it at home and am familiar with it and love the ease of use.

It is certainly powerful enough to handle the requests, providing you have the hardware and connection required. However, the only thing you might need to consider is what non serving related features your other webserver has - e.g. does it support true virtual hosting / any form of bandwidth control etc. If it does, and you are using these features, you may wish to wait for the Pro version to become available before trying to use Abyss as a replacement...

Thanks Anonymoose. Honestly I hadn't thought of the features we would loose with Abyss, although I am aware of the Pro release coming out. Which would probably be much more fitted for a work environment rather than a home environment, at least compared to the 'home' version of Abyss.

I really like the amount of support that is offered here. For the most part the community is very helpful even to the beginners who don't bother to look things up. I try to look things up, but this forum is just so large and you can only do so much looking before you want an answer ;)

I do look forward to the Pro release. Hopefully if the price is down to earth (affordable) I will buy it for my personal use. I would think that you would get a little more support from a Pro release rather than a personal/lite/home release. Although these forums are pretty extensive.

Thanks again!
