Just a little question: why is it that any PWS wont run in a newly installed PC (the modem is already intalled, but have not been into internet session) ? On some PWS, it automatically call the dial session. |

Can you please explain us more what do you mean by "don't work"? AFter installing Abyss, are you able to see http://127.0.0.1? |

OK! Its like this. I have a newly installed Windows OS (win98 se) with modem installed, but have not gone to, or created an internet account (internet setup wizard). Having that status, I installed PWS (first with Badblue, then got rid of it, and installed Abyss later). Both wont start directly. Badblue, in its case, will open my dialer first (maybe trying to connect to the net). In the case of Abyss, I can go to the console's main menu, but cant get to any of the menu. Maybe it is also suggesting that I should configure my account first, right? |

In Internet Explorer, go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Connections and make sure "Never Dial A Connection" is checked.
You should be able to use any webserver just on your machine without it trying to connect to the net - as BadBlue is a P2P filesharing program, it was probably trying to connect to a central server, which would require an outgoing connection...
Finally, try typing http://127.0.0.1 in the address bar, including the http:// IE can be a little odd sometimes... |
