mysql help me plz cheers

please help for some reason i cant create a database in mysql when i upload it and go to databases when i right click databases it should give me the option to create a database but for some reason it doesnt i have looked in other tutorials and in them you are given the option plz help
i installed mysql using osfan17s tutorial and i downloaded it from the link suppplied on his site please help everyone cheers

You need to use phpMyAdmin.

Use the "Tutorials" section on this forum.

great server aprelium this is the first time ive gone into having a web server
and its just the best i could find by the way please can someone tell me the dangers of having a web server because it cant all be glory and how should i protet myself against the danger thanks again aprelium, trustpunk for the great tutorials and and inainimate for your input

i keep getting this error when i check if it has been correctly password protected plz help "Parse error: parse error, unexpected '[' in C:\Program Files\Abyss Web Server\scripts\phpMyAdmin\index.php on line 42"

Thanks for the info inaminate i am going to reinstall the whole server with all the programs i need and put it all in 1 folder to reorganise it so it will be easyier to work with and hopefully i will make sure everything is installed correctly to get it all up and running

IS THE BETA VERSION 2.0 STABLE ENOUGH TO RUN MY WEBSITE ON

and what bugs are there to watch out for

WHAT IF MY ISP BLOCKS PORT 80

Yes, the BETA version is plenty stable to run a website (unless you have a business that seriously depends on a website, then I would stick to a production release). There are a few bugs (like the alias trailing slash), and some others we probably haven't seen yet, but none so far that impair your use of the server.

Also, if your ISP blocks port 80, you're going to need to change Abyss to use a different port, and use yourip:port.
