It should be noted these are Explorer-only extensions, and these ridiculous non-standard things are the reason we're stuck with things like GIF instead of PNG, and pages that look funny instead of uniformity across the board.
As fun as they are, if you value harmony and your reader's right to choose for himself what browser to use, then don't use them.
The internet exists because of agreed-upon standards, and MS' choice to run amok with their own extensions that no other browser supports is, IMHO, a bad one.
OTOH at least these ones don't break other browsers. =) |

I hate it when people say that...Everybody does still have the ability to choose which browser they use. There are several browsers that are free and can easily be downloaded and installed. Microsoft just happens to give you one incase you don't have another preference. Most Linux distro's come with Mozilla, nobody is whining about that! I've used Mozilla, Netscape, Konqueror, Firebird, Firefox, IE, and some others that I can't remember from several years ago, but the point is, I prefer IE over all the others so far, Firefox is the second best IMO. Not trying to fuel an argument here, but when somebody says people are being restricted from using other software, it just fires me up.
ahhh...[/rant]
