PHPBB help please

I finally got a green light from Mysql by installing it and then what I did was open up winmysqladmin.exe and entered a user name and password. Okay, now i'm having trouble installing phpbb. I think I am havinh trouble just wuth the Database configuration. I am using MySql version 3 and what am I supposed to enter into the Data Base configuration? Also, it could be I am still having trouble with MySql, because on a chat room I am testing out, when I install it says that the connection to the mysql server is okay, but it says "make sure you have permissions to database MySql" I followed the correct instructions and right user/pass but it still does not work. By the way the chat service I am using is X7 Chat version 1.3. Can someone help me out?

For phpBB:
Database Server Hostname / DSN: localhost
Your Database Name: The database you made for phpBB (if you haven't made one, make one using phpMyAdmin)
Database Username: The username you entered
Database Password: The password you entered
Prefix for tables in database: phpbb_
