I got a no ip-account i aked them, but they just ask why have i not configured it, and i gave them the problem answer.

I have to give people my ip along with the end port e.g 80.366.21.6:1054

no-ip cant have the 1054 port number in the ip. Is there anyway can not have to have the port number in the ip so if i gave someone just my ip they would see my site.

Use port 80 or use the No-IP web redirect option.

read my post again...

i did get a no-ip redirect, but im not changin it every day, i have a dynamic ip.
And i cant use the prt number 1025 (not the real port) with a no-ip host.

is there any way i can configure the server or anythingso i dont have to have the port number in the adress.

or any way i can hide it and use no-ip host.

use the no-ip port 80 redirect,

you won't have to type in the port

My bad, I linked to that thinking it was their page on how to set up a webhop. Can't find their docs on it, so here's the DynDNS ones I should have linked to...

In No-IP, you can still make a port 80 redirect and have your Updater keep the IP correct...

In No-IP, click "Add a Host." Enter the host name you want, and then click on "Port 80 Redirect." Then enter your IP Address, and enter the port Abyss is set on. Then you can use their DUC to keep your IP updated.

okay thanks, my servers running great now, and one more question.

if i put the comp on stand by but with absyss running still, and everything else, would people still be able to veiw my site and access downloads etc?

And is there a free firewall which is easy to configure for a server, but wont show an alert of hacking, that i can download? remember its gotta be free.

No, if your server's in standby your computer is unable to receive incoming commands as it goes into low power mode.

However, you can turn off the monitor and it will still respond to requests.
