I don't even need to try it to tell you that it won't work. That is your Internal IP; only viewable by people on your network. You need to go to www.whatismyip.com and give people that to go to your website. Also, you will need to have applied port forwarding for port 8080 if you have not already done so. Go to http://www.aprelium.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3806 to learn how.

I typed in 192.168.0.1 and it asked for a user name and password. I put "admin" for the password, it didn't work and I also put "admin" for both the user name and password, but no luck.

Who owns the router (you, or your ISP)?

Netgear routers are usually admin for the username and password for the password. If you want to know for sure, you'll need to give the full name of your router...

Okay I got into 192.168.0.1 and the option for forwarding is Port forwarding. Okay, what it displays is kinda this:

Service name Server IP adress add
192.168.0.0
(option mode)
-Aim
-FTP
-HTTP
and others

Now this is what I did:
I selected AIM as the service name and then I typed in the remaining digits of my IP which is 192.168.0.4 and clicked add. I typed in 80 for the starting and ending port. Is that what I was supposed to do?

You can just choose HTTP for the service; the default port is 80.

I have no clue, but this is what it says:

Yes, I meant to say "linalinks.com."

Are you sure you entered your IP correctly in the configuration. The only thing I can think of is your router not finding your IP when you entered it.

On the Command Prompt, type "ipconfig" to get it.

First, unbridge your network connections. Do so in the "Network Connections" link in "My Network Places."

Second, make a new entry in your router to forward port 80 (starting and ending) to IP 192.168.0.4.

Ok. Now when in your router configuration, enter your IP address and port 80 (in both fields) for port forwarding. Don't use the preset HTTP; make a new one.

Try using a different port. Change port 80 to 85 in the Abyss console, and then forward port 85.

I hate to say this, but it doesn't work.

Check to make sure your IP didn't change. Also, check to see if your using a proxy server. In IE, go to Tools>Internet Options>Connections>Lan Settings>Proxy Server>Uncheck it if it is checked.

I know that Comcast leases the IP 24.*.*.*, and yours seems to be different than that.

Oh... now it works for me also.

However, one problem: When viewing in Mozilla, the error "Access to the port number has been disabled for security reasons" comes up. This isn't all your falut, it is just Mozilla's act on blocking ports that can pose as a security threat.

Solution: Choose a port that isn't on this list.

i have a question for you. Everything is running under port 90 now. Everything is running perfectly, but is it possible for me to make my server to work like anastaciocorporation.com/melero/anastacio.html instead of http://68.35.164.177:90/melero/anastacio.html

Actually, since you are using port 90, there is no way to get around it (except putting anastaciocorporation.com:90 every time). When you use a non-standard port, the only thing that can hide the port number at the end is a redirect. However, when using a redirect, you cannot enter pages such as "anastaciocorporation.com/directory1/file1.html" and expect them to work like a real DNS Entry. You can still go to "anastaciocorporation.com" and have it redirect to "68.35.164.177:90" without the user seeing, but putting directories after the domain name will not work.

Okay, i'm a little confused but there is a couple of things that my host support. There is this thing called "Delegate DNS" and "IP pointing" what do these two allow me to do?

thanks

Well, try to "Delegate DNS" to your IP Address, and see if it works.

okay, thesre are my options for delegate "in-bailiwick (with glue) out-of-bailiwick (glueless)" which one do I choose. Listed under it is a list of IP's:

Nameserver Name Nameserver IP
ns1.anastaciocorporation.com 209.202.241.100
ns2.anastaciocorporation.com 209.202.218.170
ns3.anastaciocorporation.com
ns4.anastaciocorporation.com

could you tell me what all that is and what I should or shouldn't change?

Thanks

It will not allow me to add the port number like this, "68.35.164.177:98" instead it will only allow me to input "68.35.164.177" and whne I do that it does not work. Like ann.anastaciocorporation.com is pointed to "68.35.164.177" but it will not work that way and angelfire(my service) does not ask for a port number or allows me to type in the port number with the IP adress.

Ok. This is what you do:
Sign up with ZoneEdit at www.zoneedit.com
They say to change the nameservers from the ones you have (ns1.anastaciocorporation.com) to theirs. Go and change it.
Once everything is configured, set up web forwarding to forward "anastaciocorporation.com" to "68.35.164.177:98" and hit ok.

When anyone goes to view your website, they will get redirected to your IP. The only problem with this is that you CANNOT type directories and filenames after your url, such as "anastaciocorporation.com/dir/file.html," because they will not work.

I think i'm not going to do that. Reason why is that when I was at school, they have a filter and my server site can't be viewed. I do have anotehr question though; why is it that I can't open or download http://68.35.164.177:98/anastaciocorporation/wwe/smackdown/2004/april29/videos/1.wmv if it is in the right directories and everything? I've done everything to open it up without success.

Yes, I've seen this before (I used to use it).

Basically, it is quite similar to ZoneEdit.
