All right, I've downloaded in the scripts I wanted from all the programming codes I opted to use. Of course this topic has been brought up often, probably the most talked about over this board, but I find no help in what I searched for. I do not have a router, and most topics are relevant to those who have them. I know my local URL for only my comp, but the external IP seems to change the places I viewed. For example, I went to the aprelium.com page where it tell you your external IP address, and I went to whatismyip.com, and got an entirely different one.
Can someone help me with what I've inquired? |

I put in my external IP in no-ip.com, created my account, etc...
URL: frchosting.no-ip.com
It doesn't work for me. Does it work for any of you? Most likely not but hopefully.
If not, can someone guide me through steps on how to put my site out there. |

I do not have a router and plus when I typed the IP on the browser for the router config (just to make sure) nothing showed up. That topic you redirected me to really doesn't explain for my certain problem. I have my local host IP and external IP (that I gathered from whatismyip.com) and put the external IP address on NO-IP.com but obviously it didn't work. Any user help? |

The guide has two parts: router configuration and domain name set up. I intended for you to look at the domain name set up, but if it doesn't work, here's what I suggest:
Check if you have a proxy server set up:
In IE: Tools>Internet Options>Connections>LAN Settings>Proxy Server>If it is checked, uncheck it. Then check for your IP.
Would you be willing to give us the IP to see if it works? _________________ Bienvenidos! |

There is no proxy server. Just ran through the steps you input, but no checks.
I WILL PM YOU THE IP |

Neb,
Not all the connection problems are caused by a router.
If you have problems to make your server reachable from the outside, we
recommend reading http://www.aprelium.com/abyssws/faq.html#A1-2 .
Notice that if you are using Windows XP, you must correctly configure its
internal Firewall: open the control panel, select the Networking section and
open the properties of your network interface. Select the Advanced Tab and
press the Parameters button (it should be in the bottom of the page). This
button will open a dialog where you can allow incoming connection to some
ports. If Abyss Web Server uses port 80, check the Web Server (HTTP) line.
If it uses another port, press Add... and enter the number of the port Abyss
uses as the internal port (select TCP and fill the other parameters
following the descriptions). _________________ Support Team
