| I've given the key I received by email a half dozen times now. What am I missing? Note: recently installed mysql and phpBB2... |

I had a the same problem, I run Windows xp, this is what i did:
1. Start Abyss Web Server
2. Enter Your Key
3. Right click on the abyss icon in taskbar and shutdown abyss
4. Click start
5. Click turn off computer
6. Click restart.
This resolved the problem on Windows xp.

after 4 weeks with no problems my abyss has started asking for my key again.
guess i'll try to reinstall!
anoying
but not as anoying as comcast interuption of service every 2 hours for the last 3 weeks

Its funny that comcast doesn't interrupt my website that much and
incase your wondering , I tried installing linux and now my tutorial
site will be offline for about 1 week , Im waiting on my Recovery cd's
that HP Invent is sending me so I can restore my system back to health.
My linux installation some how got corrupted
and messed everything up , don't wory i have
a backup HD to store all my website documents |

| I've been using the latest version of AWS since I reinstalled it. Today I had to install the MS .net framework and guess what? AWS started asking for my registration number again! Lol. |

Open the regkey.ser file with Notepad. What is the key # you see there? Is it the one you've just entered in the registration dialog?

I can suggest: Either paste the key you want in there, delete the file and enter it when Abyss asks you again, or delete the file and enter the key manually into the file.

That's also another option. How frequently does Abyss ask for the key for you (eznetlinks)?

abyss asks for key when computer is restarted. I have never registered abyss. I dont think you have to if you use the installer. abyss didn't ask for a key for quite a long time on my server. when i installed abyss on my workstation it started asking on the first reboot. I never use the server so it dont get viruses and other surfing junk.
Server:
Gateway:
Windows XP
pentium 4HT 3.06 GHz
512MB RAM
workstation:
Dell:
Windows XP
pentium 4 1.4 GHz
256MB RAM
I know, Gateway sucks! Learned that @ UHK (University of Hard Knocks)
It's Loud and Slow.
Thats all the info i can think to give right now. Let me know if i can give you anymore info. |

After a fresh install, the key in regkey.ser is a default key that is only valid for 7 days. That's why it keeps asking you for registering. Press Register Now and get a key (for free) from aprelium.com .
