who is your provider? there is several ways you can track them down, but i would think they would have contact info on the bill that they send you as well as their web site.

If you have a phone number, why don't you just call and ask??

Any legitimate ISP, providing paid services, should have more
than a phone number for tech support.

What's the name of your ISP provider?

His ISP Provider is his parents since ISP already stands for Internet Service Provider - maybe he can email them and ask for support  What does this have to do with ports ? :D

As Moxxnixx said, any normal ISP will have a phone number and email address at the very least - there's probably also a Contact Us type of form on their website. Name the ISP and I'm sure someone here can track down some other way for you to contact them, although as a phone number is listed, why aren't you using it ? :?

If you think they're going to shut down your account, what's the difference between a phonecall and an email ? They're both going to require some form of authentication to ensure you're you...

Either way

"The easiest way, now you're here, is to click 'Ask a Question' at the top of this frame to send us an email. We'll ask for some information to help us answer the question, and the SmartAssistantTM will suggest some answers. If they don't answer your question just click 'Finish Submitting Question' and we'll answer it as soon as we can."

seems pretty clear to me 8O

Assuming this is the same ISP...

Er ? Did any of us ask what your router was or did you mention anything to do with it ? :? You haven't asked a question, just titled the topic About Ports then asked how to contact your ISP...

But you haven't asked a question apart from how to contact your ISP - which has nothing to do with your router...

No. Those sites scan for open ports on your system which respond to the scan, so for example if you're running a webserver on port 80 and it scans port 80, it will show port 80 open. If you're trying to find an unopened port on your system that you can open to use for your server, just use one of the high port numbers (above 1024, less than 65535) and use a proxy or get one of your friends to connect to test it for you.

Question

Can I run my own webserver on my paradise.net High Speed service?

Answer

You can run a webserver on a paradise.net cable or Jetstream connection. We provide a static IP for every cable connection and will provide one for a Jetstream (not Jetstart) connection on request. To request one, please email webmaster@paradise.net.nz stating why you need one. There is no charge for a static IP, but they will not be given out where they are not required.

Please be aware that webserver traffic will be counted against your monthly allowance. It is your responsibility to monitor traffic.

From your ISPs webpage. It doesn't sound like they're blocking ports so you must be doing something else wrong
