I want my forum address to look like this: http://www.forums.ZT.com Is that possible? I saw my friends had these ones and I want one too. Isn't that easy to do or hard? Please tell me and I will be your friend! :D Oh yeah, how can I just modify it and look at it when I find the address? Thank You guys and I hope someone can help me solve my problem! By the way, is that the new phpBB board? See you everyone till next time! 8) |

Setting up a forum can be a bit tricky if its your first time. First, you will need:
Php (Click here to learn how).
Mysql.
Once you have that, extract the zip file you downloaded to your htdocs folder (where your website files are stored). From there, go your ip then the directory where phpbb is. Example: http://yourip/phpbb (except using your actually ip).
After that, you should be prompted to install it. If say a download appears or nothic comes up, make sure php is working. From there, fill out all the info. If you see something like "Could not connect to database" make sure you filled out all of the mysql info right. And also make sure it is running properly. From there, phpbb should do the rest and your forum should be up and running. If you run into any errors or have any questions, post here again. I'm sure you will though, it took me a while to get mine up and running...
Btw, for the domain, you will need to register a domain name which does cost something. Check http://godaddy.com for more info on that. _________________ New image comming soon...
