Here is my background.
I'm new to webdesign and i recently just built a website using phpbb. My webhost is startlogic and everything is working fine, i can upload and download html pages, etc. But for this webhost phpbb is like a default, one click install, and the same with the phpMyAdmin. I have never used these before and i would like to edit the logo at the top of the forum or upload a new css. What do i need to do, I can't seem to get the pieces of the php from the site to my harddrive where i can put them in a text editor. Im sure i could figure it out if someone could let me know how to get a copy off of the server so that i could edit it and replace it with the new one. This should drop out my forum postings should it?

Basically i need to be able to tap into the script that i already have up and working to change the way that it looks. Please help. If i'm not being clear let me know.

TIA :)

for phpbb. there are several ways to mod the beast

you should hve read the part that says template+style = theme (or something) the template is folder of files that contains the html to make the layout work with stratigic keywords for colours and sizes. the styles repalce these keywords and insert values out of th mysql (depending on what template you are using) or you can just modify the template without including the keywords so that your skin works for all. :) gd luck
