if you set up abyss correctly, it shoudln't matter what the extension is associated to. i have mine associated toIE or my editor i think. have you actually tried running a simple script?

I went to php.net and downloaded php and installed it. When I performed the install the folder didn't show up in c:/programfiles, where the abyss webserver is installed, it showed up in c:/ . And now when I try to run a script with php on it. The scipt doesn't work. And as I said before any files saved in my Htdocs folder as .php files are associated with the extension as a microsoft home publishing print program and it won't even open correctly.
Hope this helps you help me...lol...thats about all I can thank of.
Thanks,
Angel

could you re-read your post and make them understandable please :?

the opening problem shouldnt stop the processing of .php files seeing as abyss sends them directly to the interpreter.

the standard install directories for PHP and Abyss are respectivly
C:\PHP\
C:\Program Files\Abyss Web Server\

what you could do i, erase your abyss.conf file. when you next start up abyss, it should recreate a conf file.(not shure about this, confirmation anyone?) the re read the part that tells you how to set up php in the docs or on ths site

whackaxe is correct.
It doesn't matter what .php is associated with, as long as you have the cgi interpreter pointed in the right direction.
Go into your server Console > Server Configuration > Advanced > CGI Parameters.
Make sure it says C:\PHP\php.exe in the cgi interpreter.
And make sure it says /*.php in the cgi paths.

If it makes you feel better, right-click on a .php file and hit properties.
Then change Opens with: to something else.

I checked my cgi parameters and everything is setup correctly. Yet for some reason the scripts still do not work. I am not sure what I am doing wrong.

What do mean by "it doesn't work"?
Are you getting errors? a blank page?
What's the script you're trying to run?

Angel,

If you are double clicking on the PHP script icon in explorer to make it work, this won't work.

For example, if you put a file called test.php in the htdocs/ directory, you should browse (using your browser) http://127.0.0.1/test.php in order to make it work.

The file is served through Abyss, not with explorer.

My Comp was having some issues at the time of the PHP Installtion and when I performed the install it corrupted some files, so that would explain why php scripts were not working. After the comp probs were fixed ( we went back to windows 98 XP has to many issues as you may know or have heard) I went in under safe mode & deleted the files then reperformed the installation & wala proplem fixed.

Thanks again,
Angel
