|
|
Hi all. Sorry to bug you. I have been working on this for five days and I cannot seem to find out how to associate my domain name (www.pwd-online.com) with my IP address (68.50.103.127). It's a static IP address which I currently have the default port running Apache webserver and Abyss server is using port 8080. Anyway, I can get my page to load with either port (utilizing the ip address to direct the http://) but I can't figure out how to ASSOCIATE www.pwd-online.com to my IP address. Goddady.com says it needs two nameservers, but I can't seem to find an easy way to make a "nameserver" on my system (i.e., ns1.pwd-online.com? maybe)?
Any help GREATLY appreciated! _________________ Thanks,

I finally did some hunting, discovered that bestregistrar.com does free name server registration, as well as godaddy.com (with much searching). I have my name servers set up to my ip address, hopefully now I can just wait and see :)
PS - Godaddy.com is only 9.99 a year or less if you get more than one year (just so you know) _________________ Thanks,

If you already own the domain name and its simply parked at the registrar (like godaddy or whatever), use www.zoneedit.com. They are totally free and let you do a whole bunch of things... including letting you park your DNS name on their servers... all for free. You just setup an account at zoneedit then get into the DNS administration of your godaddy account and tell godaddy which zoneedit DNS servers to point to (zoneedit will give these server address details). Then in zonedit, tell it what ip to send your DNS name too and whammo... |

I had it working and now pwd-online.com (if a lookup is done) seems to point to 68.50.103.127 but it doesn't load anything up. Please help!!! _________________ Thanks,
